The artworks currently on display at the ArtLords Gallery in Kabul have been created by a diverse group of artists from Afghanistan, including women, men, and LGBTQI+ individuals. These artists have developed their skills through years of dedicated mentorship and residency programs with ArtLords. The paintings, which include mediums such as acrylic on newspaper and canvas, as well as oil on canvas, vary in size. Disclaimers: These paintings were safely transported from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, journeying from Kabul to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, then to Istanbul, Türkiye, and finally to Virginia, United States. Signs of wear from their travels may be visible, adding to their historical value and the stories they embody. A significant portion of the proceeds from these paintings is dedicated to supporting at-risk artists in Afghanistan, particularly female artists who face severe restrictions under Taliban rule. Each painting is sold with a signed certificate from ArtLords, certifying its authenticity and origin.
